EPA to Install Monitoring Wells Along Dickerson

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be installing monitoring wells along Dickerson Road in Upper Gwynedd Township as part of an ongoing groundwater investigation for the North Penn Area 7 Superfund site.

The wells will help define the extent of the groundwater contamination containing the volatile organic compounds TCE and PCE.

Once work begins, the community should expect to see drill rigs, work trucks, and other equipment needed to perform the work. EPA will take measures to minimize nuisances like noise and dust. The roadways are anticipated to remain accessible during drilling activities.

The work was delayed but is now expected to begin next week, on October 6th, and is expected to last through late November 2025. The workdays will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
